An aviation holiday was held in Kubinka on May 12

On May 12, 2018, an airshow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the 237th Guards Proskurovsky Red Banner Order of Kutuzov and Alexander Nevsky, the I.N. Kozhedub Aviation Technology Display Center, was held at Kubinka Airfield. The center became the heir to the famous 176th Guards Proskurov Red Banner Order of Kutuzov and Alexander Nevsky Fighter Aviation Regiment. The history of the Center dates back to 1938, when the 19th Fighter Aviation Regiment was formed at the Gorelovo airfield in the Leningrad region. During the Great Patriotic War, the pilots took an active part in the battles against the Nazi invaders. To date, the Center of the show includes two aerobatic aviation groups "Russian Knights" and "Swifts", as well as an aviation training group. The aviation festival on May 12 was attended by the world's best Russian military aerobatic teams in combat aircraft – the owners of the Russian Knights Display Center on Su-27 and Strizhi aircraft on MiG-29, as well as guests participating in the Falcons of Russia holiday (Lipetsk) on Su-27 andGolden Eagles" (Torzhok) on Mi-28N "Night Hunter" combat helicopters. Unexpected guests of the military holiday were no less legendary civilian pilots, athletes, multiple world and European aerobatics champions flying as part of the First Flight aerobatic team, on Yak-52 and Yak-54 aircraft, and of course the already well-known 7-time Absolute World Champion in aerobatics Svetlana Kapanina, who She demonstrated the art of her aerobatics on the Extra 300 sports aerobatic aircraft. The highlight of the aviation program was the famous "Cuban Diamond" of five Su-27s and four MiG-29s. The holiday brought together a lot of people who love and are interested in aviation.
