The start of the Military Sports torch relay of the III Winter World Military Games 2017 in Sochi

On February 23, 2017, in Moscow, at the State Kremlin Palace, a ceremony was held to combine the lights brought from five Russian cities by the ambassadors of the World Air Games:

Severomorsk: Svetlana Vladimirovna Kapanina is a seven-time absolute world champion in aerobatics, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, Honored Coach of Russia, instructor pilot at Sukhoi Design Bureau.

Rostov-on-Don: Svetlana Vasilyevna Khorkina is a two-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics and a 9-time world champion. Honored Master of Sports of Russia. First Deputy chief of CSKA. Lieutenant Colonel of the reserve of the Russian Armed Forces.

St. Petersburg: Anatoly Nikolaevich Alyabyev is a two-time Olympic biathlon champion. Professor. Colonel of the reserve of the Russian Armed Forces.

Yekaterinburg: Svetlana Irekovna Ishmuratova is a two-time Olympic biathlon champion, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. Member of the Board of the Russian Biathlon Union. Deputy chief of CSKA. Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces.

Khabarovsk: Andrey Aleksandrovich Silnov is an Olympic high jump champion. Honored Master of Sports of Russia. Senior warrant Officer of the reserve of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The lamp of the military sports flame was handed over to Arina Tekanova, the yunarmeysky, and to the hero of Russia, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Nechaev, who escorted him aboard the plane bound for Sochi.

On February 24, 2017, at 20:20 Moscow time, at the opening of the III Winter World Military Games in Sochi Olympic Park, the final stage of the Military Sports Torch Relay and the lighting ceremony of the Fire Bowl, called the "Ice Cube", took place.

  2. Albert Mikhailovich Demchenko is a Russian luge skier, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, Three-time Olympic vice-champion, two-time world vice-champion, multiple European and Russian champion, captain of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
  3. Lieutenant General Sergei Mikhailovich Sevryukov (Southern Military District, Commander of 49 A, Multiple winner of the All-Army competition "Commander's Starts", head of the champion team of the 2015 All-Army competition "Elbrus Ring")
